ALTERNATE MATERIALS FOR BATHROOM INTERIORS OTHER THAN TILES

ACRYLIC PANELS

Acrylic panels are one of the best options for bathroom wall coverings because they are difficult to dent or crack, stain resistant and easy to install. They are smooth and have a smooth appearance. And due to their seamless and durable nature, damage from water and leaks is less likely. Acrylic paneling is much more durable than conventional bathroom tiles and is easy to install. The panels also have a non-stick surface that repels deposits and soap, making them easy to clean. Although they are known for their durability and strength, they are much lighter and easy to install.

PVC PANELS

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) cladding is one of the most affordable bathroom cladding options on the market today. They are wear-resistant, require minimal cleaning and do not allow mold to grow, unlike conventional variants. Because PVC is easy to install and a great way to add a touch of sophistication, many homeowners today have started using it extensively in their homes. Unlike other alternatives, if the panels get damaged, they are easy and cheap to replace. And if it needs cleaning, just wipe it down with soap and water and you're good to go.

MARBLE

If you are looking for a more sophisticated space, marble is the way to go. Although on the more expensive side, marbles are a beautiful material that creates a new look and will last a lifetime with proper care. If you need to shade your bathroom, pair two different types of balls to achieve a unique look. Make sure you clean the marble with the right cleaning products and natural substances. Do not use harsh chemicals as they can cause stains and would be expensive to clean.

STONE

Stone is also a great alternative to bathroom tiles. It can last a lifetime and is incredibly strong and elegant. They are mildew resistant, warm and incredibly durable. Stones come in a variety of price variations and depend on the type, size and finish one chooses. Stone as a floor covering is also great, but make sure you choose a textured stone to avoid slipping.

WOODEN PANELS

Wooden panels are very pleasant and have become widely used in modern houses. Although our conventional wisdom suggests not using wood in bathrooms, modern woods treated and coated with sealant work well in wet zones of bathrooms. Using wood as an alternative to bathroom tiling creates warmth and depth with its style. Before you install wood panels, keep in mind that wood is hard to maintain and requires special care in maintenance.

After considering all these facts about bathroom tiles and understanding their pros and cons, consult with an interior design firm to decide on suitable materials. Durability, beauty and suitability are the main factors that will be recommended for your home.
